I DID IT!!!
I conquered two goals this morning on my run — TWO — and managed to set a personal distance record while doing it!!
Early this morning my running partner and I set out to run up a huge hill that I found yesterday while driving around. That hill kicked our butts! (It was a 23 foot climb in .10 miles) My heart felt like it wanted to jump out of my chest but I made it to the top of that hill. I was so out of breath that I didn’t even think to take a picture of the view for you guys – I guess I will have to attempt it again soon. 😉
The next goal that I accomplished was to run to our local McDonalds. With the help of Robin I not only ran to it but past it (since she was yelling at me to NOT stop! haha). As she said when we finally turned around “You accomplished your goal, now you have NO EXCUSES next time!” Yes, Robin, you are right! 😉
We ran 7.02 miles this morning with one break to walk and chat for a bit. A new personal distance record in the books! I love running with Robin, she always pushes me to the max!
This afternoon the hubs and I were able to go on a lunch date… mmmm Sushi! So yummy and I was able to spend some much needed time with the hubs.
I need to get off to bed, tomorrow we have a morning run planned with the kids doing sprint intervals – should be fun!! Enjoy your night!
In exercise, as with life, you must be able to adapt.
Eaaaarly this morning I woke up to rain. I rolled over to check my alarm, okay 2am… it will be gone by 5:30. Yeah, NOPE! I woke up again around 5 and texted the husband, “Aaaand no running outside for us!”. The rain didn’t go away until later this morning… much too late to take a jog. So I sat around pouting for a bit (I really wanted to get out and run today!) but decided that I NEED to do something. So I put on one of my cute new outfits and decided to do a TurboFire HIIT.
Successfully finished the TurboFire HIIT 15 (just in time because my youngest was wanting to take a nap). I took a break to put the baby to sleep, set up the older two with an educational computer game (love those for a little ME time!), and was able to complete ChaLEAN Extreme Burn Circuit 3!
(You can tell I’m a mom, huh?! Weights in the middle of toys! That’s how it is around here in order for me to get my workout on!!)
I am SO glad that I decided to add TurboFire back into the mix, I have missed my “soulmate workout”!!
When things don’t go as planned, don’t let it get you down. Find an alternative and ROCK it!
Okay, I must admit it….*sigh*…. this last week I have been slacking. 😦 I have had a few physical and emotional setbacks this past week, but the wonderful thing is that last week is over. This is the beginning of a brand new week and I am looking forward to what it holds for me!
This morning I woke up, rolled out of my nice warm bed, rubbed the sleep out of my eyes (not willingly) and dressed for my morning run. I’ve been needing a little alone time and needed to run to clear my head of things. I had grand ideas of smashing my previous personal distance record and running my best run yet… well this picture shows how well my run went….
Not so great. I guess taking a week off wasn’t such a marvelous idea. I did manage 2 1/2 miles but they were far from the best ones I’ve done… I felt like my body was sweating out noodles from the previous night’s dinner. Note to self, focus on eating better this week!!
This week in Kelsey’s Workout World:
- Sunday: 2 1/2 mile run, TurboFire Abs 10
- Monday: 2 1/2 mile run, ChaLEAN Extreme Burn Circuit 3
- Tuesday: TF HIIT, swim/kayak (hopefully!)
- Wednesday: 30 min hills, TF Abs 10
- Thursday: 3 mile run, CLX Burn Circuit 1
- Friday: REST!
- Saturday: 4 mile run, CLX Burn Circuit 2
What’s this week hold for you workout wise??
This morning was our family run day. We do short runs with K (4) in her single jogging stroller and M (2) and R (7 months) in a double jogging stroller. Miki and I took turns pushing each stroller. We have gotten so used to running without the strollers that pushing them kicked our butts! It felt like pushing the strollers through sand, but the resistance will only make us stronger in the end. We didn’t run far, only 1.8 miles but at least we were moving!
K went to preschool and I took the youngest two to a local river to swim with friends. It was during lunch time so I decided to switch up my Shakeology today. One scoop Chocolate Shakeology, one cup Almond Milk, a handful of frozen strawberries, a handful of frozen blueberries, and a teaspoon of natural peanut butter. Yuuuummm!
After the swim we picked up K from her summer camp and went to the Farmer’s Market. I had forgotten that the Farmer’s Market was on Thursdays so I have been buying fruits and vegetables from the grocery store… which is getting pricey! When we got to the Market I was surprised at how much its grown since the last time I visited!
Yummmm, I LOVE when my baskets are full of colorful fruits and veggies!
What are your favorite summer fruits and veggies?
